The Great Expedition

Before the stars Christ lived eternal;

Planets rolled from out His Hand:

Earth the capstone of Creation,

Man the focus that He’d planned.

 With breaking heart saw our rebellion;

He knew the human race was lost;

And so Christ left His heavenly glory,

 Came to earth at matchless cost.

Caesars send their expeditions,

Columbus sailed the ocean blue,

Some climb all the highest mountains;

But Christ – He came for me and you.

What an honour to our planet!

Eternal God – Creation’s King –

Son of Man, He came to save us.

That is why the angels sing.

Born in Bethlehem’s humble manger,

He lived as our example rare;

Crucified and Resurrected,

We’re the objects of His care.

And each Christmas is prophetic:

Christ will reign as Prince of Peace.

Earth will have no peace without Him –

When He returns, the strife will cease.
