TWO WAYS

Bursting into flaming fireballs,

Hijacked planes struck through the towers;

Impelled by ‘righteous’ indignation

At the US worldwide powers.

See such footprints over history,

Even in Christ’s holy Name,

Crusades were waged and children murdered,

Never mind who held the blame.

The Alexanders and the Caesars

Conquered with their swords held high,

Causing bitter, piercing anguish;

Hear the victims’ helpless cry.

Human righteousness is false,

God alone is Truth and Right.

Through His gracious Love and Mercy

Jesus came that holy night.

In Manger, Cross, and Resurrection,

Are both God’s judgment and His Love,

Our pride is nothing but rebellion;

Our lives belong to Christ above.

So we this Christmas message offer:

To save us from ourselves He came.

Pride and self must die with Jesus

For life eternal in His Name.

Heavenly power Christ set aside,

That we may with Him abide.
